Towards a Community-Led Plan

"Drop-in"-Day Success in Ireby & Uldale Parish

On Saturday, 10th May, Ireby and Uldale Parish Council, working alongside ACTion with Communities in Cumbria, held a day of drop-in sessions to encourage residents to think about a community-led plan.

Both morning and afternoon sessions were well attended.  Over fifty members of our community came to the Globe Hall in Ireby, to admire the art work that the children of Ireby CofE Primary School had produced; to discuss issues; to meet councillors and fellow residents; and to enjoy delicious home-made cakes and biscuits with a cuppa (or two!).

We were able to share what is happening, hear different viewpoints and encourage those who wish to be involved further in a community-led plan to join a steering group.  Those attending were also able to hear how Ireby & Uldale Parish is contributing to the Lake District National Park's Local Plan.

We are grateful to all who came along, and extend our thanks to organisations and individuals who provided information and display stalls:

  • Ireby & Uldale Parish Council
  • ACTion with Communities in Cumbria
  • Cumberland Council Community Panel ("Lakes to Sea")
  • Our Cumberland Councillor, Jill Perry
  • Northern Fells Group
  • AbilityNet Cumbria

Our thanks also go to the Globe Hall Trustees and especially Mick Moore for all his work in setting up the Hall and being on hand to assist throughout.
